July 5, 2012, Mehama to Bill & Karen's

July 5, 2012, Mehama to Bill & Karen's

To hwy 22, left on Jennifer, cross 226 to Ferry, left on Hwy 22, right on Old Mehama, right on Hwy 22, right on Fernridge, left on Bodenheimer(?) to Sublimity, right after a few blocks on Cascade Hwy, left toward Aumsville, Aumsville Hwy to a left on Kuebler, Right onto Fairview Industrial Dr., left on Madrona, right on Pringle, right onto 13th to Salem train station. I had a pleasant conversation with the Amtrak employee who attempted to change my departure from Portland to the 11th, but they had no room for bicycles available on the 11th. I elected to stay with the original plan. He graciously wrote down my confirmation number as I had conveniently left all my trains data back in Carmichael. Then through town to the Bike Peddler to purchase tubes, frame pump, and hex wrench set, which was a bit excessive considering all the wrenches available, but it has everything I might need. Then off to Bill and Karen's via Hwy 22 and Oak Grove Rd. Felt the rear end give at bit. Rear tire was low. Pumped it up in the mortuary parking lot, located at Oak Grove and 22. T= 2:59, Mx= 36.9, Av= 13.6, El Gain= 1010, ODO= 2898, D= 40.6.  No stretch. Butt time is the only issue. Meaning the skin over the two sit bones was feeling tender.
This entry began with a route description because it challenges me brain to remember where I have been and provides information for future rides.
